Renamed from Sutters Mill Golf Mine. Hawaiian Village Golf was landscaped to re-create the central California area where gold was discovered January 24, 1848 by James W. Marshall, an employee of Captain John Sutter. The American River and the PeaSoup Bar Courses are named after gold strikes during the California Gold Rush or 1849.
